Homework Guide
Spellings:
Spellings will be set on Fridays and tested the following Friday. Spelling lists and scores will be posted on Seesaw and have been sent home in a 'Spelling Workbook'. Please practise your child’s spellings at home regularly.
Reading:
Children are expected to read every day at home. Children are asked to bring their reading book in daily and return any books they have completed to select a new book. Both banded reading books and library books can be chosen to take home and enjoy. Year 5's library day is Friday. A member of staff will check the use of Active Learn - Bug Club on a weekly basis to reward dojo points.
Mathematics:
Children will be continuously revising and applying their times tables knowledge and can work on recall of these and the related division facts on Hit The Button. Children will also be asked to consolidate learning done in school by completing activities on MyMaths once a week. These will be marked every Friday and children will get 5 dojos for every lesson completed that week.
Interactive Homework Projects:
Regular interactive homework projects will be sent home for children and families to participate in learning about the world together. These may be run as competitions or activites which siblings can complete together.
