Faith in Action

We are proud participants of the ‘The Faith in Action Award’ via Liverpool Archdiocese Animate Youth.
This award encourages young people through recognising, rewarding and celebrating their active faith lived out through service and reflection. The Award helps them connect their life and faith in a tangible manner.

In journeying through the Award, young people experience a deepening of their relationship with God and have opportunities to explore that relationship. It is hoped that through their relationship and action, others will see God's love through them.

The Faith in Action PIN Award encourages young people to deepen their relationship with God by actively living out the Gospel values in their daily lives. For Year 6 children at St. John’s Catholic Primary School, the award provides a meaningful way to put their faith into practice — through service, kindness, reflection and leadership. It helps pupils understand that faith is not only something they learn about in lessons but something they do through their words and actions. Guided by the example of St. John, the award supports children in recognising how small acts of love can make a real difference in their school, parish and wider community.

Taking part in the award is especially important as Year 6 pupils prepare to transition to secondary school, carrying with them the strong foundations of their Catholic identity. By embracing our school motto, “to live in love,” they learn to emulate the compassion and dedication of St. John and follow God’s footsteps in everyday life. The Faith in Action Award helps them grow in confidence, responsibility and spiritual maturity, giving them the opportunity to lead by example and inspire younger pupils. In doing so, they live out their faith authentically — showing that love, service and generosity are at the heart of who we are as a community.

1 John 3:18

“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.”

Year 6 pupils understand that love is most powerful when it is lived out. It reminds them that real faith is shown through genuine actions: helping others, being kind, showing compassion and living truthfully. It beautifully reflects our school motto, “to live in love,” and echoes the example of St John, who taught that love must be active and authentic.

Reflecting and remembering those who were lost during the Holocaust.

Belonging to our St. John's Community

At St. John’s, belonging is at the heart of who we are. Our school strives to create a warm, welcoming and nurturing community where every child feels valued and supported. We believe that when children know they are truly seen and appreciated, they grow in confidence and flourish both academically and spiritually. St. John’s is an encouraging environment where relationships are built on kindness, respect, and love, ensuring that no child feels alone or overlooked. By fostering this strong sense of belonging, we help each pupil understand that they are an important part of our school family — celebrated for who they are and guided to become the very best version of themselves.
