Children learn best when they practise a new skill in lots of different exciting ways, both in school and at home. The websites include lots of resources and games which help children practise their Maths and English skills:
My Maths – an online learning tool for Maths. Children are assigned learning to complete
BBC Education have produced a whole host of materials for KS2. Follow the KS2 link and then select either Maths or English. Each area has an information section for reading, plus an activity and then quiz which is marked online. Some aspects require a subscription.
Education Quizzes - A site with both Maths and English based quizzes which are marked as you go along.
Top Marks – Hit the Button - Times table practise
Emaths - These are “old style” Key Stage 2 test papers but are still useful for practise, and in particular, creating discussion around questions and strategies to answer. View on screen or print off for free.
Math Playground - This site has loads of Maths games which help to practise a range of skills.
Sheppard Software - Maths games on a range of mathematical concepts.
Crickweb - A range of English games and activities.
Active Learn – Bug Club An opportunity for children to read books online and answer comprehension questions based on their inference and understanding of the text.
Spelling Frame - A range of activities and games to practise a range of spelling rules and patterns. Year 3, 4, 5, 6 spellings are available to practise.
Pobble 365 - This website supports children’s writing by displaying an image (which changes daily) and inviting children to undertake a range of creative writing activities inspired by the image.
Top Marks - Maths games and activities for Key Stage 1 and 2
Woodlands Junior is an informative site with games and challenges in maths and grammar along with interesting information for curriculum subjects.
Totally the bomb - This website brings the world into your living room! There are tours of 33 National Parks ready for our children to explore.
